One of the appealing features of both the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X is its ability to run at an impressive 120fps, creating buttery smooth gameplay that gives players the maximum possible time to react to a game’s many challenges.

Will Fortnite run at 120fps on PS5?
According to Epic Games, Fortnite will run at a fixed 60fps on both PS5 and Xbox Series X, at 4K resolution. This means that, at least at launch, Fortnite won’t run at 120fps on PS5.
Instead, the PS5 and Xbox Series X will offer some perks aside from FPS over playing on other hardware. For example, Fortnite will feature Dualsense controller rumble on the PS5, and both consoles will offer 60fps gameplay even in splitscreen mode.
While Fortnite might not take advantage of the maximum possible FPS available on the PS5, PC players are able to get 120fps or higher depending on their computer.

When will Fortnite release on Xbox Series X and PS5?
Fortnite will release on Xbox Series X, Series S, and PlayStation 5 on the consoles’ respective launch days. This means the game will come to PS5 on November 12th in the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea, and on November 19th in the rest of the world.
Fortnite will release alongside the Xbox Series X and Series S on November 10th. For both consoles, it’s worth bearing in mind that stock stortages will make it almost (but perhaps not entirely) impossible to secure a unit on launch day without an existing pre-order.
It’s important to note that while Fortnite won’t run at 120fps on Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5 at first, this doesn’t mean that the feature won’t be introduced at a later date. As the game receives regular updates, and as 120fps gaming becomes more common, Epic Games may choose to improve Fortnite’s FPS on PS5. Is minecraft on pc.
